There are four key disciplines within the laboratory; prenatal, postnatal (including microarrays), oncology and molecular. genetics. Each laboratory section is staffed with registered medical laboratory scientists and technicians and led by a section head.
A consultant clinical geneticist is responsible for the provision of clinical oversight for the laboratory and the service leader is responsible for the technical / scientific operations and financial and personnel management of the laboratory.
The laboratory currently employs 18 medical laboratory scientists, 6 medical laboratory technicians and 2 data administrators.

 Clive Felix BSc(Hons), DipACC(UK) Service Leader Clive is the head of the laboratory. He has over 25 years diagnostic cytogenetic experience, having initially trained in the UK and gaining a postgraduate qualification in clinical cytogenetics in 1997.  Andrew Beddow BSc(Hons), PGCCC(UK) Section Head Prenatal Andy heads the prenatal section of the laboratory.
