Sending Samples

• All samples must be received within 48 hours of sampling to avoid compromising culture success

 

• Referral laboratories must ensure specimens are dispatched in a timely manner to ensure prompt delivery (many courier services will not deliver on Saturdays or public holidays unless specifically arranged)

 

• When transported by a courier, specimens must be kept at ambient temperature

   

• All external referring laboratories must provide faxed notification of dispatch of samples using the following form: Download Sample Dispatch Form  

         This process enables us to immediately track the current location of any delayed deliveries.
